The Young People's Chorus of New York City and Francisco J. Núñez return to celebrate the holiday season at the storied St. Patrick’s Cathedral for its 37th annual “A City Singing at Christmas,” also featuring the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Choir, the Cathedral Organ, and New York Symphonic Brass.
The Young People’s Chorus of New York City at Washington Heights (YPCWH) performs in a musical prelude to the annual holiday candlelight reading of Clement Clarke Moore’s “Twas the Night Before Christmas (A Visit from Saint Nicholas),” a tradition that began in 1911.

Young People’s Chorus of New York City will open the 2017 OAKE Conference with a public concert. This conference is an annual, countrywide gathering of Kodály educators, students, and guests. YPC Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Núñez will conduct.
YPC reprises Joan La Barbara’s “A Murmuration for Chibok,” (a YPC commission) at Bang on a Can’s 30th anniversary marathon at the Brooklyn Museum. YPC and Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Young People’s Chorus of New York City conducted by Maria Peña join choruses from Japan and the U.S. in a program of international songs. This free concert is being presented to benefit victims of the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami and local and international communities in need.
YPC presents the 14th Annual School Chorus Concert on Monday, May 15th at the world-renowned Apollo Theater. Our presentation of “The Tales We Tell” will be in collaboration with our special guests, the Classical Theatre of Harlem, and will combine song, dance and dramatic storytelling.

Ten years ago, on March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami struck Tohoku, devastating the region and impacting thousands of lives. We are honored to join the Consulate General of Japan in New York in paying tribute to those affected by this natural disaster with this performance of “Furusato,” a well-known children’s song that means “Hometown” in Japanese.

A debut, New Prayer For Now (Part 1), features music by Monstah Black and the Young People's Chorus of NYC, inspired by "Balm in Gilead" by Harry Thacker Burleigh and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Paul Simon. This in-the-round work, adapted for both virtual and live performance, will eventually allow for virtual participation of dancers from multiple locations.
Performed in 2017 by members of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, the LiveArts Digital Premiere features visuals drawn from The Met’s stellar collection of ancient Greek art and artifacts. This original adventure story is presented in a new musical setting that returns the epic to its roots as a tale meant to be sung (“Sing in me, Muse”).

In our new holiday film Topsy Turvy New York, The Young People’s Chorus of New York City takes viewers on an uplifting journey of brilliant song and showmanship to recapture the post-pandemic holiday spirit. The performance is set to an original story by best-selling author James Patterson and co-written by author and lyricist Susan DiLallo and author Richard DiLallo.
