YPC performs an excerpt from Julia Wolfe's “Fire in My Mouth" with members of the NY Philharmonic. This Sunday afternoon performance is part of a weekend-long series of events and discussions on March 16 and 17 at the Fashion Institute of Technology to create a permanent memorial to this catastrophic event, which claimed 146 young lives.

Young People's Chorus of New York City is pleased to announce its debut at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.  YPC’s award-winning choristers will weave together a program of music and show-stopping choreography in this “don’t miss” concert.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City is pleased to announce its debut in the Toronto Children's Chorus annual Junior Treble Festival. In addition to workshops and rehearsals with other singers from choruses throughout the Lake Ontario area, YPC will sing individually and also with the entire group in the festival’s closing concert.

Young People’s Chorus of New York City and Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will be the guest artists of Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra for a Symphony Space performance as part of the annual celebration of Cinco de Mayo in a performance entitled “An Evening of Fandango & Afro Latin Jazz.” 

Over 100 excited young artists from the two community choruses of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City in Washington Heights and at Goddard Riverside Community Center, will join together for a buoyant program of music beloved by the singers and sure to delight their spring concert audience on May 11.

The Young People’s Chorus of New York City culminates the third season of Vocal Resolutions: Shaping Perceptions through Music -  an initiative that uses singing as a catalyst for cultural exploration and mutual understanding -  with a concert, centering on this year’s theme of “balance.” 

YPC will be the special guest artists of the SoHarmoniums Women's Chorus in a program premiering new arrangements of lullabies written for Carnegie Hall’s Lullaby Project! “Laughter, Love, and Lullabies” May 21.

Bang on a Can and The Jewish Museum present: Young People’s Chorus of New York City in “Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything.” YPC will give a concert of songs and poems by Leonard Cohen and others to coincide with the Jewish Museum exhibition under the direction of Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez.

At 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City will give a pre-curtain concert prior to the Classical Theatre of Harlem’s theatrical presentation of “The Bacchae.” at Marcus Garvey Park.

The European Jewish Congress has invited the Young People’s Chorus of New York City to join singers from the allied countries of the U.K., France, and Russia in Jerusalem to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the baton of internationally renowned Maestro Vladimir Spivakov.

When Festival Napa Valley, California Wine Country’s flagship music festival, made the decision to postpone its 15th Anniversary Season to 2021, its artists refused to be silenced. Led by two alumni of the Festival’s Blackburn Music Academy – conductor Zach Salsburg-Frank and violinist Sienna Peck – 126 past and present Festival Napa Valley musicians joined forces to create an extraordinary virtual performance of the famous “Va, pensiero” chorus from the opera Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City performs in The Universe in Verse - an event conceived by the brilliant Maria Popova. This livestream performance will premiere a new work commissioned by the New York Philharmonic and composed by long-time YPC collaborator, Paola Prestini. Participating musicians include Rosanne Cash, Patti Smith, Amanda Palmer, Zoë Keating, Morley, and Cécile McLorin Salvant. 

On May 2, 2020, Young People's Chorus of New York City performed in "The Call to Unite," a 24-hour global livestream event celebrating our collective humanity. YPC joined with more than 200 world leaders, artists, musicians, front-line workers, including Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Quincy Jones, Yo-Yo Ma, Deepak Chopra, and Mandy Moore.

The Young People’s Chorus of NYC will virtually perform “America the Beautiful” and “Lean On Me” in Macy's Fourth of July fireworks show. The musical score will be a mix of pop and patriotic anthems and will air on NBC from 8-10 p.m.

The one-hour online event will feature 600 choristers from YPC’s after-school performance and community choruses, along with special guest stars.
