Young People’s Chorus of New York City and Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will be the guest artists of Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra for a Symphony Space performance as part of the annual celebration of Cinco de Mayo in a performance entitled “An Evening of Fandango & Afro Latin Jazz.”
YPC will reprise its performance of “Borderless,” an exciting work for YPC and string quartet commissioned from Mr. O’Farrill. The work imagines a “borderless”world where everyone belongs and is free to roam. The sounds and swirls connect the syncopation of Cuban Son, together with contemporary musical texture depicting a future where all can“enter the dream.”
