This week at YPC.org (10.30.2020)

HEROES – “You’ll Never Walk Alone”

Every night at 7:00 p.m., New Yorkers cheered from their windows and rooftops for the healthcare workers fighting on the frontlines against COVID-19. “You’ll Never Walk Alone” is our tribute to these Healthcare Heroes—including some YPC alumni—who give us hope for “golden skies” ahead. Listen to “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and join us as we continue to honor our heroes.

JUST SONGS (UNPLUGGED)

Just Songs (Unplugged) is a new series of original songs written and performed by YPC talent and inspired by the significant issues of social equity facing our communities. This week, we’re featuring “Grown,” from New York City born-and-bred artist, JORDAN. Inspired by the nostalgic feeling of looking at old photos, JORDAN’s song sheds a light on those transitional moments in life to which we can all relate.

VOICES OF YPC: Virginia Creary

Virginia is an FDNY EMT and Dispatcher, and was a YPC chorister from 1999-2006. We talked to her about how she traveled the world with YPC, and she shared how that experience helped her develop a love for new cultures and experiences.

UNPARALLELED MUSICAL PERFORMANCES

In the Summer of 2018, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City and Yale Choral Artists took the stage at the Kaufman Music Center in NYC to perform an exciting program of music and movement, all relating to citizenship and celebrating music from many parts of the world–from Finland to the Amazon rainforest.
