Young People’s Chorus of NYC Gala Concert, March 10, 2020 at Jazz at Lincoln Center

Young People’s Chorus of New York City, led by Founder and Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, returned to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. for our 32nd annual Gala Concert, this year in honor of composer and philanthropist Gordon Getty. Hosted by multiple Grammy Award-winning artist Jason Mraz, the event recognized Mr. Getty as a YPC Legacy Honoree for his shared commitment to and efforts on behalf of making music education accessible to young people of all backgrounds.

YPC’s annual Gala is the chorus’s most important fundraiser and helps support its year-round programs for over 2,000 children in New York City and beyond. This year, the chorus performed Gordon Getty’s “Young America,” as well as his setting of “Shenandoah,” featuring soprano Lisa Delan. Host Jason Mraz performed alongside YPC in a medley of his chart-topping hits. Also featured in performance with the chorus was YPC alumna and Broadway singer-actress Aneesa Folds, who recently starred in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Freestyle Love Supreme.
