Warm insulation means little if cold air cuts through the outer shell. The Noize Franny uses a high-density woven polyester shell treated with a durable water-repellent coating. This water-resistant exterior sheds heavy snowfall, freezing mist, and highway slush splatter. Water forms beads on the surface and rolls off, keeping the internal polyfill clusters completely dry.
Wind defenses rely on construction details around the body's vulnerable thermal escape zones. Rib-knit storm cuffs hug the wrists tightly, preventing upward wind drafts and keeping drifting snow out of glove openings. Down the center front, a heavy-duty two-way zipper runs the length of the coat, protected by an insulated storm flap secured with snap closures. The two-way mechanism is a practical necessity: because the coat extends past the mid-calf, unzipping the lower pull creates enough leg clearance for climbing subway stairs or sliding into vehicle bucket seats without straining the fabric seams.
