The shared lyrical hook reveals how slang adapts to artistic intent. For Khalid, the phrase carries deep emotional weight. He was an outsider in El Paso, having moved constantly as an army brat before settling there for his senior year. The lyric reflects an adolescent yearning for roots and genuine human contact in a culture distracted by phone screens. When Khalid asks for coordinates, he is asking someone to open their world to him without psychological games.
For Dave and Burna Boy, "Send me the location" operates on pure momentum. By 2019, Dave had spent years documenting the brutal realities of South London youth culture. His verse on "Location" serves as hard-earned relief. The location is not an emotional sanctuary; it is a luxury yacht, an Ibiza villa, or a private VIP section. Sending the location signifies that you have made it inside the inner circle. Burna Boy’s presence cements the transnational nature of the flex, tying London’s grime and drill lineage directly back to Lagosian nightlife.
