Human perception relies entirely on surrounding reference points. In Donaldson’s case, his long-time ensemble cast creates a warped baseline for viewers at home.
Chandler Hallow stands roughly 6 feet 5 inches (195 cm). Because Hallow has been on screen since Donaldson’s low-budget Greenville studio days, audiences treat Chandler as the visual baseline for a "tall guy." Standing directly beside Hallow, Donaldson looks two inches shorter, tricking the untrained eye into assuming he is roughly 5 feet 11 inches. Conversely, Karl Jacobs stands at roughly 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm), while Nolan Hansen measures around 5 feet 10 inches (178 cm). When Donaldson steps between Jacobs and Hansen, the dynamic flips entirely, and Donaldson suddenly looks like a basketball center.
