The first promotional trailer opens on familiar iconography: a pristine lawn, an unblinking security camera, and an agonizingly polite family dinner. But the script flips quickly. Instead of De Niro grilling Stiller over his nursing credentials or secret marijuana use, Stiller sits across from Grande, visibly sweating while attempting to run a background check on her private startup.
The standout scene in the teaser features an updated version of the franchise's polygraph gag. Greg attempts to set up a digital biometric ring to monitor Olivia's stress levels during an evening aperitif. Olivia notices immediately, turns the apparatus back on him, and corners him on his decades of financial insecurities. When Jack Byrnes walks into the room, he inspects Olivia’s counter-interrogation setup, nods in approval, and utters the callback line: "She has operational instincts, Greg. You could learn something."
