The rumor first gained traction through brief, dramatic TikTok clips featuring urgent text-to-speech narrations. These videos declared that rapper MC Mateo attempted an ill-advised stunt during a music video shoot or after-hours VIP party, supposedly dipping his hand into a predator tank containing reef sharks or moray eels. Captions urged viewers to "search the full uncensored video," driving hundreds of thousands of queries directly into platform search bars.
Within 48 hours, engagement-farming accounts on X amplified the claim by posting low-resolution screenshots of an alleged hospital bed scene. Commenters debated whether the rapper had lost his forearm entirely or undergone emergency reconstruction surgery. The speed of the narrative’s dissemination highlights the power of shock-driven curiosities: audiences shared the story not because they had verified the source, but because the bizarre nature of the premise demanded confirmation.
